I announced the coming of the launch earlier and now it is really close, but really now, the launch of Pinduin is right around the corner. With that in mind I wanted to take a moment to say something that should not have to be said, but is always needed to be said.
We take helping our community make their dreams come true seriously and that means that our community needs to take it seriously too. So as a way to try to keep trolls and spammers and the likes away and make the best possible and most positive experience for all our Pindu’ers, we are putting in a membership fee to gain access to the Pinduin community. (More about pricing below.)
I know this is not a guarantee that negativity, criticism, or outright bashing will not happen anyway, BUT I hope that if you are serious enough to pay then you are serious enough to play. And like all loving parents say to their dear, but naughty child, “Play nice”.
Community is important. So important that it is the one thing that we will do everything that we can to try to build it with all of the positivity and creativity that this community needs in order to make us successful in reaching our goals. I will always reserve the right to remove negative remarks and inappropriateness in general, but my hopes are that these types of actions will not be necessary.
I am also taking this opportunity to try to make Pinduin great by asking you, the community, the people out there that want to get it done, to help me make it better. Sooooo…
I am making a first round of sign up by invite only. The first invite only round is limited to the first 100 persons AND if you get an invite and you are one of the first 50 then you will be able to get access to Pinduin for free! That’s right free of charge now, BUT also free of charge for life! Yep, forever and ever, you will be able to be a member of and use Pinduin free! It is my way of thanking you already now for helping me make Pinduin what it will be…GREAT!
After 50 members, up to 100 are allowed to sign up in the invite only round, the price for Pinduin is 3 USD for these members. Again a one-time fee only, but only for the 2nd 50 persons. The invite round is maxed at 100 and we will keep you updated about when we open up for public sign up.
Public sign up gets fun because the price to be a member will start at 12 USD and gradually climb for each 100 users we reach so in other words it might be worth it to get in early. This price will be a yearly fee for life, unlike our first 100 “lifers”!
Again, I will say it again, the intention here is that as we grow and as we want to keep our community positive then we will try to insure that new users are serious about joining our community. That’s why the slowly increasing price and that’s why the yearly fee. This might change sometime in the future, but for now I hope it works to keep the community packed full of people that want to get it done and not just some random trolls at every corner.
Ok so what else? Well community is not all. This price is going to include the Pinduin mobile app which is really important for us to get right and so it will be developed sometime in the future. That means when you are an “early” member then you will get “early” access to the mobile app.
After the app is released then the price is probably going to go up again for any new users signing up. No idea what those plans look like now, but again we will be asking you to help us figure it out.
I have had long and hard thoughts and debates about the life of Pinduin and how I could succeed at continuing to create all the things I have been inspired to create by all my inspiration sources – my dear family and pseudo-family, and the kids and youth that I coach. I read a lot about how others have done it and thought that this was the best model for Pinduin. I hope you agree too.
